ONTARIO, California — November 4, 2026. Early returns show a majority supporting Measure H, the city’s proposed half-cent sales tax for general municipal services. The election-night totals are unofficial and must be confirmed through the county’s canvass.
Current citywide vote
The county reports 13,923 Yes votes (53.82%) and 11,948 No votes (46.18%), a lead of 1,975 votes for Yes. All 80 Ontario precincts reported night-of-election totals; additional lawful ballots may still enter the count.
Services identified in the ballot
The ballot description specifies a 0.5% transactions tax intended to support general services including police, fire, paramedic and 911 response, streets, homelessness initiatives and other city needs. The ballot estimates about $32.5 million annually if adopted. That is a projection, not an appropriation to any single service.
Citywide versus district elections
Unlike City Council District 2 or District 3, the tax measure is a citywide ballot question. Separate mayoral results show Daisy Macias in the lead; no precinct or election-night count should be described as certified.
Figures: San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters, Summary Report #5, Final Unofficial Election Night Results (November 4, 2026). Precinct reporting is complete for election-night ballots but not necessarily for all eligible mail and provisional ballots. No final certification has occurred.
