ONTARIO, Calif. — A multi-part civic campus expansion is reshaping the city’s downtown government district. Ontario’s official project page says a six-level public parking structure opened in September 2025, while construction on a planned 60,000-square-foot City Services Building began in February 2026.
What the completed parking structure offers
The city says the parking facility has approximately 800 spaces for visitors and municipal use, with entrances connecting to Sultana Avenue and nearby downtown streets. The roof deck includes structures supporting solar panels. Parking availability, fees and restrictions should be checked on-site; the total capacity does not guarantee a vacant space at any particular time.
Next phases and the fire station
The project includes a new City Services Building intended to centralize functions currently distributed across city facilities. The city lists a projected completion in October 2027. A new Fire Station 1 is also part of the campus plan, with vehicle bays, living quarters, training and administrative space.
Ontario also describes potential partnerships involving education and healthcare-related facilities on the broader site. These plans are not evidence that every proposed campus element has opened.
How to follow construction
Downtown drivers, nearby residents and businesses should monitor the city’s construction updates for changes to access, parking and pedestrian circulation. A published schedule is subject to later project revisions. The broader initiative is part of the city’s downtown revitalization strategy.
